Society for WINGS at Junction 8 operates as a vital charitable organization dedicated to empowering women aged 40 and above to embrace aging with confidence, promoting happiness, health, and financial security through comprehensive programs and community initiatives. Established in 2007 and located at #05-01, this registered charity has touched the lives of more than 20,000 women through their center-based programs and extensive community outreach efforts. With Singapore's growing population of older women living alone having increased by 40% over the past 15 years, and women outliving men by two to eight years on average while experiencing more illness and disability, Society for WINGS addresses critical social needs through evidence-based programming that encourages self-reliance and personal responsibility among older women.
The organization's mission centers around three fundamental pillars: physical and emotional health promotion, financial security education, and meaningful community engagement that reduces dependence on family and societal support while enabling positive community impact. Programs include free events and talks on aging well, digital social skills workshops that help senior women stay connected both in-person and online, and lifelong learning opportunities that promote personal growth and wellness. The comprehensive approach ensures participants receive holistic support that addresses the multifaceted challenges of aging, from maintaining physical health and emotional well-being to developing financial literacy and building sustainable social connections that combat isolation and promote active community participation.
Operating during office hours and contactable at 6250 1012, Society for WINGS offers transparent financial stewardship with 85% of expenses directed toward meaningful program delivery, while donors receive 250% tax deductions on contributions. The organization's strategic location within Junction 8 provides accessible community service delivery for residents throughout the Bishan area and surrounding neighborhoods. As Singapore's demographic shifts toward an increasingly aging population, Society for WINGS continues to serve as an essential resource for older women seeking support, education, and community connection, ensuring they can age with dignity, purpose, and empowerment while remaining active, contributing members of their communities through evidence-based programming that respects their experience and potential.

Many activities of interest at Wings catering to us women. I have found the activities for which I signed up for or participated in to be beneficial and of interest. The trainers are good and know what they are doing, engaging the participants so it's "fun n interesting". I have been taking a stretching n exercise class under trainer Jonathan for a number of years. Found him to be encouraging and he corrects us as we go along so the class is beneficial and addresses our issues. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work

I would recommend wing to all my friends. There are courses that can use SkillsFuture and also dance fitness and singing classes. Trainers there are great especially Irene Tan. Her dance and tone of the class is fun and she is very passionate with her job and she is always willing to go the extra mile. 5 stars 🌟 …

Wings has many fitness class for ladies and instructor Irene class is my favourite. Irene is a very patience instructor and her class is always very entertaining and fun, especially her fit and tone class. We are always sad when the class come to an end as we hope to have a longer class with her, but we also always excited when we can look forward to her next class which brings excitement, joy and a smile to our faces 😊

Peter Tan is a very good vocal coach. He teaches you line by line, where to breathe, slur, emphasize, crescendo, fade off etc. He has classes in English and Mandarin. His feedback helps us to improve. No need to take them personally.

Recently completed a 4 lessons course of Art Decoupage at Wings. Thoroughly enjoyed the lessons on doing art decoupage on placemat, glass plate, sage basket and wooden tray. This was my first experience of doing art decoupage and am fortunate to learn from a wonderful trainer Ms Debbie who is assisted by a friendly and helpful Ms Lucy. Ms Debbie is an affable and passionate teacher who imparts her skill well with patience and clarity. She certainly ignited my interest in art decoupage.
