Run in a very unprofessional manner. The staff told me they close at 11 PM the week before CNY. When I arrived at 10:30 PM, they were cleaning up and very uninterested in serving. Then they told me their system had shut down.
If you close earlier, just say so.
This is modern-day customer service.

Last week, out of a sudden craving, I decided to drop by and buy some bak kwa. I hadn't been to this brand for some time. Unfortunately, eating it reminded me why I had stayed away. They add a lot of MSG, and I got really thirsty after eating it. I've tried other brands before, and it wasn't as bad as this. Plus, the meat was on the harder side.

It looked very nice, so I bought some. For the first time in my life, I brought home cold bakwa, and the taste was so bad I wanted to stop after one bite. Seriously? Who wants to eat cold bakwa? Purchase date: 20/10/20. Invoice total: $40 (it was nearly closing time). $36 of that was for cold bakwa. Since when has 美珍香 become like this? 🙄🙄…

Extremely bad service at J8 outlet on 26/1/24. I bought 1kg of BBQ pork at $70+ and paid with BCH vouchers bought from Safra. To my astonishment, the lady with a foreign accent refused to give me an ang bao pack, although I had purchased beyond the minimum $50 to get one. Her reasoning was that because I used vouchers, it was not equivalent to a cash purchase, and I would not receive any gift item, not even an ang bao pack. But I didn't see any notice about this in the shop. This was during the festive CNY period, yet she could be so insensitive and ridiculous. I will also provide feedback to Safra to inform them that the BCH vouchers they sell are not as good as cash.

Yesterday, I bought 600g of Applewood bak gua at Junction 8. When I reached home, I got one slice to eat and realized the bak gua was very hard. I was thinking maybe it was only a slice, but after eating the second and third slices, I realized the hardness was quite consistent. I couldn't chew and swallow it.
I used to get it from the Ang Mo Kio branch and never experienced this before. I'm not sure if it's the CNY period; perhaps the increased volume has compromised the quality. Now my kids and the elderly in my family cannot consume it. It's wasted.

The BBQ pork slices are wonderful. The store has a wide variety of local delights. The staff provides magnificent service.
