Long John Silver's Junction 8 has been serving Singapore's favorite halal seafood and chicken fast food since 1983, bringing the international chain's signature secret batter and affordable pricing to Level 4 of Bishan's premier shopping destination. Located at 9 Bishan Place with convenient access to Bishan MRT station, this popular quick-service restaurant caters to families and individuals seeking crispy, flavorful fried food options in a halal-certified environment. The restaurant's commitment to preparing fresh batter throughout the day ensures consistent quality that has made Long John Silver's a trusted name in Singapore's competitive fast food landscape.
The menu centers around expertly battered and fried fish, seafood, and chicken options that showcase the restaurant's distinctive secret batter recipe, delivering crispy exteriors and tender interiors that distinguish their offerings from competitors. Popular items include crispy breaded chicken with Italian tomato sauce, various fish fillets, and seafood combinations served with crispy crinkle-cut fries that perfectly complement the main dishes. The comforting clam chowder soup paired with garlic bread provides a warming option, while rice meals and combination sets offer complete dining solutions. Frequent promotions, such as two-person sets including both chicken and fish for 0 with drinks, make quality fast food accessible and budget-friendly.
Operating daily from 7:30am to 10:00pm, Long John Silver's Junction 8 provides extended hours that accommodate breakfast, lunch, and dinner needs for busy shoppers and commuters. The halal certification attracts Muslim diners while the affordable pricing structure, with meals for two people typically under 0-30, appeals to budget-conscious families and students. While maintaining the international chain's standards and familiar flavors, the Junction 8 location serves as a reliable, convenient dining option that combines crispy comfort food with inclusive dining policies, making it an integral part of the mall's diverse food and beverage ecosystem.
Very poor service attitude. 9 Aug 11am. The staff are too busy packing full and doesn’t want to take orders. They just brush off customers to make orders via app. Their spicy nuggets however is not available to order on the app. So I have to order on the app and over the counter. How troublesome and inconvenient is this?! The staff attitude is poor! And over the app you cannot pay by phone card, only paynow. You guys need to organise your system better and make it more convenient. And please train your staff to have better service attitude. Lastly, the air conditioning here is poor, run down and ceiling looks like it’s going to fall apart.

Unpleasant experience with an older male staff member today. All I wanted was a tub of chili crab sauce, but I was ignored when I went to the counter. The guy continued fulfilling earlier orders, going through three order slips without acknowledging my presence. As I could see a queue of slips still waiting. I spoke up to place my order. He continued as if he hadn't heard me. I repeated myself, and he finally shot back rudely "I know, I know!"
Later, as he was keying in my order, I mentioned I just needed the tub and no bag. He looked at me and again impatiently replied "I know, have to wait for the kitchen to prepare!" However, he then went into the kitchen and returned with a half-filled tub. As I didn't want to agitate him further, I apologized and even thanked him, thinking he was helping me get my order quickly. He did not reply.
When I got home, I discovered a thick layer of oil floating on top of the roughly 50ml of "sauce"! It dawned on me that he was probably being spiteful rather than helpful.

I have LJS quite often. The last time was last week. First time being served so little fries. First time see spicy chicken with so little paprika powder, compared to other outlets. Still have to jump through hoops by orderung through QR code and keying bank card info for payment. Visited on 2025-03-21 17:45

Came here to grab dinner, this is my first visit to this LJS outlet. It's quite a small outlet located at Junction 8, the tables and seats are kind of squeezed together, giving not much room for some customers. There are also no self order kiosks so you have to use a QR code on the table to order. The food was prepared quickly and I received my food fast 👍 The meal tasted alright but the coca cola I received did not taste right. I ordered a Regular coca cola as part of the meal but when I drank it, it tasted like coca cola lite or zero, it was definitely not regular coca cola. So overall, it isn't a great outlet to visit but I still like LJS food so if there aren't many options that I like around the area I might patronise again. Hopefully the store could be renovated to be better or service could be improved. 👍

The first thing any one will notice upon entering this outlet, is all the mould and dirt on ceiling. I feel bad for the employees for daily exposure to this. Not sure if this would be the shop or mall’s responsibility to fix, can see that this has been around for ages. We only came in because other places all long queue, will not return.

This place has gotten from bad to worse. It's been a few years and no improvement at all. Since before COVID I have patronised this joint because it's the one nearest to my home. The problems all started when the battered chicken planks are too thick and all the cooking staff (which changes every now and then) only followed specific instructions to fry them. The chicken were fried till it's impossible to slice with the plastic knife. When you manage to cut into it, the chicken is half cooked. They still don't know the dangers of eating half cooked chicken. Once I wrote into their website and their manager contacted me. When I got there he offered to refry the chicken and fish at a lower temperature and longer time so everything will be fully cooked. After the manager left, back to half raw again. Thruout these few years, either the size of the chicken keep changing or they are still not hot (temperature) enough. I always bought take away so I can refry it myself. Yesterday I went again, my order was a full 10 minutes wait despite me being the 2nd in que. It's ok to wait for 10 minutes, but again, I got pale yellow half cooked chicken, the signature battered fries are no longer served, instead they use the pathetic budget frozen fries...
Look hard enough at the cross section of the chicken, you'll spot translucent meat, THATS not cooked. Check out the colour, that's golden brown to you? The fries? Sad.

fast service from the 2 boys serving us! food was okok for its price.
alaska polluck was quite salty, prefer their dory. chicken was thick and crispy!
my coke zero abit flat. they also didnt give me my tartar sauce?
my fries were stale but my friends one were fresh and crispy. it really makes a difference cause they tasted so cold and stale :(
We also got their churros for $4.90. It was exactly 15cm as advertised which is the same size as my hand! It was piping hot, crunchy, and sugary, together eith the thick chocolate dip! Their strawberry/raspberry dip was too watery and not that nice.
Also feels abit bad to use takeaway boxes and plastic utensils just so LJS can save money. Let's try to use reusable items pls.

Looks quite understaffed despite not many people dining there. Maybe I can't complain about grilled salmon with rice at 8.20 but I am. The rice was still hard and undercooked and the salmon had burnt stains on it, wonder if they clean their pans.

Listen … I feel we are at the dawn of the downfall of large fast food chains. These capitalists need to be taken down. The crew and workers always look exhausted here. They try to put on a smile but you can sense they’re hanging on by a thin thread. Today food was served with no ice in the drink (reason: we ran out of ice), no tomato ketchup at dispenser (no time to top up too despite asking for more… but they kindly gave out tomato ketchup packets. Place was buzzing and busy with orders, and the place was messy (as always). They are understaffed, overworked, over stretched.

The service attitude was very poor. On August 9th at 11 AM, the staff were too busy packing orders and seemed unwilling to take new ones. They simply brushed off customers, directing them to order via the app. However, their spicy nuggets are not available to order on the app. This meant I had to place orders both on the app and over the counter. How troublesome and inconvenient is this?! The staff's attitude was consistently poor! Furthermore, the app does not allow payment by mobile payment methods, only PayNow. The system needs to be better organised and made more convenient. Please train your staff to have a better service attitude. Lastly, the air conditioning is poor and run down, and the ceiling looks like it's about to fall apart.

Had pollock, shrimp and onion rings. Food was a lil salty and greasy but overall really impressed with the ingredients used. The onion rings used actual onion (not like BK) and the shrimp was good quality. Fish was a lil dry but was also good quality.
Think Bishan LJS is a lil underrated. Great quiet place to get a bite. Probably only place in Bishan with legit onion rings. Will b back for those. Pls come and support :)

The sandwiches today (July 5 2025) was very well made and absolutely delicious! The fish was freshly fried and the toasts were nicely browned.
It was much better experience as compared to previous visits. The toasts were mainly white and soft (no effort to toast properly) and the fish were hard and dried. I guess they were prepared by different cooks.
I hope you can keep up the good standard. Good food would ensue more customers which is important especially in this climate.

The Staffs are fantastic! Love them! Very nice and helpful.
The food quality is much higher now for Long John Silver's and I am impressed!
Packaging is changed and fish is much tastier now!
The only thing about this place is a bit old, need some renovation.

A little bit crowded since it’s a popular place for students to hand out and space is a little small. Food has improved since 2 years ago when I came. Fish was nice and crispy and very flavourful too. Loved the fried tempura bits. Portion is quite worth the price too so good place for students to have lunch at

the food is amazing! crispy, made to order and excellent quality.
applaud the staffs for churning out great quality food, with the high demand and can see that the service side is short staffed. came here shortly before 12pm (lunch time) only ONE lady (malay, wearing tudung) handling orders, packing (for deliveries) and dine in? She is fantastic at handling the pressure and demand.
An indian lady (kitchen staff) goes back and forth to help as well. great teamwork.
I hope the management sees this.
They deserve great compensation for their patience and work ethics.
Restaurant is well maintained as well.
Atmosphere is one star because I don’t like to see hardworking workers being treated like this. Just because they can handle the overwhelming demands doesn’t mean they should be. Please do something about the manpower.
Some customers walked away because they see there’s alot of delivery orders, because not everyone understands this plight.
