My first choice was under renovation, and I was in a rush — that’s the only reason I walked into this chaos.
I ordered just a simple bowl of laksa. It took 24 minutes to arrive, and only after I chased them. The laksa? Bland, completely lacking salt. The egg? Overcooked, with those unappetizing black rings around the yolk.
As for the shrimp — one came with nothing but a sad, broken tail. But the final straw? I found a piece of plastic packaging floating in my bowl.
FunToast, you’ve officially set the bar for disappointment.

food is ok. place is hot (outdoor area) and trays are strewn all over the place as staff are not diligently collecting them.
what is unacceptable here is the quality of service. absolutely preposterous. mixed up my order and still yelled blatantly at me in my face- "你没有跟我讲!" when she had clarified and repeated my order back to me just less than a minute ago. in general, tone of the service staff here is rude, condescending and offensive.
i have been to other fun toast outlets. the one at PLQ was my favourite when i was living at paya lebar. however, the j8 outlet is really awful and i will boycott it. many other kopi and toast chains here like ya kun, toast box and even coffee shops nearby.
definitely will not be back again.

I always come here for my breakfast/ tea time. Unfortunately this is gonna be my last visit.. The food quality prepared here deteriorating a lot over the years.
The eggs are served room temperature.
The kaya left the group chat.
The milk tea..mind as well serve me Chinese medicinal soup.
Fun toast, please pull your socks up for this outlet. It’s embarrassing.

Trays stink - even though we are here early morning.
Ordered Chee cheong fun curry chicken, and they wanted to charge extra 50 cents for the sweet sauce that usually comes with ccf.

Staff arent the friendliest. I’m not expecting Michelin service at a regular toast shop but they literally stare at you while you decide on your order.
Heads up the French toast set they offer do not come w eggs. What’s worst is that their French toast tasted like they just dip the bread in honey, not eggs.

Had a very unpleasant experience at Fun Toast today. I ordered a Yuan Yang set that’s supposed to be Kaya and peanut butter bun but when it came, the buns don’t look anything like the photo, I don’t see any Kaya on the bun. I ordered Kopi c kosong but the lady who took my order apparently heard wrongly and gave me Kopi kosong. After I realized that my drink order was wrong I went to ask her and she was so defensive and insisted that I ordered kopi kosong. She didn’t even bothered or wanted to hear me out. I wanted to either: 1. Ask if it’s possible to just add evaporated milk into my cup or kopi and top up if required or 2. Order another cup. However she has no interest in whatever I’m trying to say and just turned away. While dining there, another staff who is probably on her break sat down near us and started to clip her nails! Her nails are flying all over the floor behind us. Thankfully the other set of Kaya butter toast and Chee Cheong fun are ok. Given the poor attitude of hygiene of this place, I’ll definitely not go back again.

The eggs are super low quality as compared to Ya Kun eggs which are large and firm. Not sure why a competing chain would use inferior eggs. This is the kind you get at cheap coffee shops. You can also see many other reviewers giving very low rating for eggs and general food quality.

Need to brush up on drinks prep especially hot beverages. Balance of sweetness and all not in order. Coffee was only warm when served. Not 'fun' at all.

25+ minutes waiting for the slow kitchen work... still don't know how long it might take! Such a small and tight space! Will not come back anymore.

The coffee is only warm when served! I can't dissolve the sugar inside. The bread toast is like lao hon bread... Soft and soggy. Not hot serving, feel disgusted.

The opening time stated 10am but I was there around 9am+. Tried the French toast with ham and cheese. Toast was soft and nicely done with the melting cheese, nice. Coffee is average.

Casual ambience. Order, pick up when the buzzer goes off. The service staff goes round to collect the cutlery when they see you have finished the food. Quite efficient. I guess, the turn over will be better this way.
Although it is a small outlet, many come to take away.
Otah and cheese soft bun is a fun combination. However, I am not fond of the spread used.

Located on third floor, just beside the open space. They have both indoor and a semi-outdoor seating which is not obvious. One can also seat by the open space and playground while watching over kids do their thing.

3.5 stars. Feel like this is one of the better Fun Toast outlets compared to the dismal experiences I've had elsewhere.
The egg mayo is better here. Kaya toast today was good with generous kaya and butter. I'm not too fond of the siew mai as they are super fatty and pink inside. Iced kopi and teh is somewhat diluted (as with other outlets), the cup is way too big and filled with ice.
Not sure why so many complaints about the staff. Have had ok service here although I always struggle with my Shopback redemptions! Better than Toastbox downstairs for sure.
