Packaging can be improved. The last time, the pork floss and other items went all over the plastic bag. Now, the chocolate pudding was put in a way where it could just roll easily. The end result? Broken and wasted.

Went by your Bishan outlet this afternoon. There was a guy shouting "special promotions." I chose the swiss roll, not the cheesecake (had that before). I asked about the expiry, and the same guy reassured me it's 3-4 days, including today, 8/4. But when the lady cashier told me it's going to be tomorrow, 9/4, I queried him. He became defensive, claiming he heard me wrong. He then tried to convince me, saying he had eaten it before with his mom, even after expiry, without any issues. But hey, that's not the point, right? Unable to get a refund, as he couldn't simply void a sale, I had no choice but to pick another item. Simply frustrating. Was it my fault for trusting a sales staff member there instead of trying to find out the expiry myself?

BreadTalk has started selling all its Christmas stuff, such as 'A Letter to Santa' donuts at 3 for $6. The rest is standard fare in terms of bread and other baked goods. Still love the floss bread, though; they are the best.

Got the seaweed shio pan ($2.20). Crispy on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. Each bite was buttery salty with a good amount of seaweed taste. It's similar to a croissant but minus the flaky mess, a bit denser, and a little on the oilier side (due to the butter). Overall a good salted butter roll.

I think they have sunk to a new low. The laziness of the cook is just unbelievable. Not only was the sandwich not toasted, but he didn't even bother to cut it. Where's the quality control? BreadTalk Group, what are you doing about quality and your reputation?

My dad loves the fire floss from Breadtalk so much. During his visit to Singapore, he would eat 1-2 pieces every day for two weeks straight. This time I’m bringing him some as he cannot come to Singapore because of his condition. The staff’s gesture of providing me with a cake box for my flight was really a nice touch.

I had almost eaten half a bowl of the curry chicken when I suddenly saw a weird black spot and realized it was a housefly. I showed it to the staff and was told it was a fried shallot. He must have thought we couldn't tell the color difference between a housefly and a fried shallot. Although another staff member came to offer a replacement, we could not accept, as the curry was from the same pots. Both my girl and I each had a bowl, and we immediately gave up eating; psychologically, we felt stomach upset. The situation could have been handled with more concern and better customer service.

Love BreadTalk's 'Salted Cheesecake'. The regular price is $16, but yesterday I got two for $8 each. At that price, I have never found any place that has better flavor. Besides, the staff are nice. The store is in Junction 8, a nice mall, and is in an easy-to-find spot.

You don't get the quintessential Junction 8 experience without smelling the freshly baked bread upon leaving the NS Line entrance or exit. Located near this area, and right beside Toast Box, you can often hear the cashiers or employees announcing the discounts and prices of each bread. The breads are always enticing. Of course, Breadtalk is a well-known household name and franchise to most Singaporeans, so I'll cut to the chase. Not forgetting the nostalgic factor — I always got their pork floss. I tried all breads as is — no reheating, just straight into my mouth. The first bread I tried was the shio pan. It was flaky (though not as flaky as a croissant), salty, and chewy, but I think the salt was what drew me to it. Next, the naan was definitely spicy and had curry potatoes and chicken in it. It's not like a classic naan (I think; I haven't tasted naan in a long time), but it was just 'meh.' I wouldn't get it again. The bun I'd get again is the sunflower. It has a lot of seeds in it — black sesame, walnut, sunflower, among others. It tasted really good to me.
