The guy putting the food onto my plate was very rude. He said very annoyingly, "Can you speak louder, or not?! I cannot hear what you're saying!!!" He glared at me even more. I never even told my order rudely or impolitely. Now, whenever I walk past ToriQ stores, I will walk away.

Tori-q stands the test of time. The rice here is honestly really good for the price point. Get 4 sticks to get a discount, and I recommend asking for less rice to get another discount; it'll still be sufficient food.
Only about 5 groups can dine in, so there aren't a lot of seats, but most of the crowd takes their orders to go. At dinner time, the queue can be intimidating because there can be up to 30 people in line, stretching across Yakun's entire shop front, but even so, the line moves quickly thanks to the staff.

If you want a quick yakitori fix, this is the place to go in Singapore. It's a chain store, so you don't necessarily have to choose this store, as they cover the island well.
The food is decent, and for yakitori at this price, it's definitely not bad!

Dined in on May 5th at around 3 PM. Exceptional service. Enthusiastic and very patient staff, even when several customers needed more help. Unusual in the F&B industry these days. Very positive, no complaints. Great teamwork.

Not much of a looker, but absolutely yummy! Rice is well-cooked. The meat selection is just the best; I always have a hard time resisting picking everything. I always request the mayo on top and less rice (yes, more or less rice is an option). The dining space is super small, though, more for quick, in-and-out dining.

My favourite Japanese bento shop. Have been patronising this ToriQ for many years.
Love the pork stick. It's the best.
Pork with asparagus is also good.
Jumbo sausage is good.
Quail egg is not bad.
Chicken stick is also not bad.
Service is fast, even though there's a long queue during peak hours.
The staff are patient and friendly.

I gave it 5 stars for maintaining the standard of their food, even after so many years. Their rice is from Niigata, Japan, and they even sell it over the counter.
The staff taking the food orders are always clear and precise. I also like how they called out the orders to the staff handling the cashier.
Examples include: 'no rice,' 'no sauce,' 'more pickles,' or 'more seaweed.' The staff would ask: 'Do you want mayonnaise on your fried skewer?' and 'Mayo on the side, or separate?'
They make ordering skewers easy and quick (unless a customer can't make up their mind about what they want). So don't assume that the staff taking your orders is yelling at you.
This store has been here a long time. I really don't mind the place being a little small, like most of their other stores. As my lunchtime is around 12:45 PM, maybe I've been lucky; I get to sit every time I'm here.
I'm usually here on weekdays, and most of their customers buy takeaway. So, seating is limited.

Edited review: "This isn't the first time I've visited this stall in the evening, and I've encountered this lady a few times already. This lady serving me is very rude and impatient. I hadn't even told her what I wanted, and she put seaweed on the rice, even though I wanted to add more sauce. After I told her, she threw the pack of rice aside and was not happy. What kind of service is that if you are working in the service industry? There's no need to rush people to order. We have the right to order slowly. And I never even took up so much time. I still said thank you."

You can bring your confirmed girlfriend/boyfriend here. Not on your first date, if you want to impress.
Other than that, the food is always consistent. At least, it's a hearty box of proteins.
The sauce is great too. I personally dislike the pickles, as they are usually very old.

This is usually a quick takeaway situation, so the atmosphere is busy and cramped. The food was okay: chicken fillet, though many people were ordering more than me (sets, etc.).
