I paid a visit to try out this place, having heard a lot about it.
Visited on a weekend lunchtime, and the place was quite empty. I guess I was lucky because people started streaming in after I ordered and took my seat.
It's a bit of a mix-and-match concept where you choose a size and then select your main and sides. I ordered a regular one which allowed me to pick 1 main and 3 sides.
I was deciding between the BBQ and fried, but ended up choosing the fried.
The ordering and collection process was quite a breeze and fast.
The portion actually looked quite decent for the price. The chicken portion was quite big; the sides were a bit small, but overall still sufficient for me.
First, the chicken: the meat was juicy and quite thick, but it wasn't really crispy and was served pretty lukewarm. I was a bit disappointed there was no crunch to it.
The sides were actually better than I expected. The onsen egg was just a typical egg, but the begedil did surprise me; I loved the flavors! The curry vegetable was also quite delicious, and I was thinking it would be better if I had some rice to go along with it.
Overall, the meal was not bad but not fascinating. I also got the sweet sambal. It was good, but the quantity was a bit too little for the big piece of chicken. I knew I had to pay for extras, so I just ate whatever I had.
It's decently priced for a mall, but I hope for improvements.
It's not so bad for a 3; I think it's more of a 3.5.

Amazing food, especially the BBQ chicken! Sayur lodeh, Quail eggs, and brinjal are phenomenal. The chili is also very spicy, and really good!
Salmon and Rendang Beef are decent, but not worth the additional $6 and $3 respectively.

I would like to commend Ms. Goh Fong Eng for Going The Extra Mile For Service (GEMS) when I came to dine at Serangoon BBQ And Curry at Bishan Junction 8 on Monday, 19 May 2025, at 3:30 p.m.
The reason I come down many times to have a delicious and satisfying meal is the very good quality of their Beef Rendang, Otak Mackerel, and Curry Vegetables.
The owner Eugene’s desire to preserve his parents' legacy and recipe of Nasi Padang is a noble one!
I would highly recommend anyone who appreciates good tasty Nasi Padang to come and try their Nasi Padang.

Amazing meal of Fried Chicken Bowl and Beef Rendang Bowl, accompanied by Begedil (a must-have), Spicy Chinchalok Brinjal, and Quail Egg Belado.
The Sambal Belacan was the bomb!
The portion could have been a bit bigger.
Our restaurant 'instructor' Lai Ying was also very friendly and welcoming, helping technophobes like me navigate the ordering system.
Thank you for the lovely experience.

Perfect blend of classic and modern Padang food! I love the choice of sets and the fun dining experience. Our host was welcoming and explained the concept. The food was superbly done and generous with the spice! Definitely coming back to try other dishes.

Must come to this place if you are looking for Halal Nasi Padang in Singapore. Tried their Red Balado Chicken Bowl, Green Sambal Salmon Bowl, and Black Kicap Sotong Bowl. Everything is so good. The portions are generous, and the prices are worth it. Highly recommended!

The rendang here is very well cooked. The spice has a good kick. We had the Rendang Beef & Chicken Set. They were all very fragrant and tender. The sambal is potent. Good!

I ordered regular grilled chicken with salted egg sauce (+$0.50). For sides, I got begedil, curry veg, and brinjal. The total cost was $11.40.
It's definitely above average compared to other nasi padang (aka cai png) places. But at the same time, it doesn't feel very nasi padang. They have things like coleslaw, which I doubt I saw at their closed-down branch in the Sin Ming area.
Their curry veg is very nice. The chicken is huge and tender, with the sauce enhancing the taste. The brinjal is unique; it doesn't feel very Eastern and has a ratatouille feel – I'm not sure if this is a compliment. Begedil was good, but I've had better.
Anyway, I just don't feel that the spirit of the founding store is here, and the pricing is also very steep for cai png. You can get a 50% discount, though, if you join their membership. Food-wise, you definitely get something better than average, but is it worth paying 100% more for two vegetables and one meat (and rice)?

First time trying it out! Loved the portion and ambiance. I bought the platter set for two, which cost $26.90 (fried chicken, BBQ chicken, two bowls of rice, lauk lodeh, sambal quail eggs, two servings of spicy and sweet sambal, and two drinks). All I can say is, it's worth it. The portion is huge! The jasmine black tea is just right – not too sweet and not too bitter. I'm a picky eater, but I loved everything about it here. The front staff was very welcoming and guided us along the way when there was a crowd, and the kitchen staff helped to carry another tray when I had two trays to bring to the table. I will definitely come again and will recommend this place to my friends too! Keep it up!

Please bear with me — this is going to be a long one.
I’ve been meaning to try this spot, but I didn’t think the price tag of $10.90 and up was going to be worth it — I just assumed it was another overhyped F&B joint, and I’d basically be paying for the unit’s overheads instead of quality food that I could probably get at a nearby coffeeshop for maybe half the price for a weeknight dinner. I decided to try it (takeaway) today because I couldn’t figure out what to eat.
First of all, the packaging in itself is genius. The rice and chicken are separate from the sides, and the sambal is in its own packaging. Love!
I was shocked by the portion — I got the eggplant sambal (a bit on the sweet side, but delicious nonetheless) and begedil (a very decent size, soft on the inside and crispy outside). The signature BBQ chicken was also an incredibly generous portion, really flavourful, and the Thai fragrant rice was topped with a good amount of curry (would have loved a little more of both the rice and curry!). I wished the belachan was on the spicier side to really get that “kick” out of the meal (or perhaps an option for something spicier). It doesn’t feel too oily, nor does it give you that horrible “food handover” feel you get after a super heavy meal.
Every single dish/condiment was so full of flavour that I can’t wait to buy this again and try the rest of the menu.
The price tag is well worth it for the quality, flavour, and portion size — I can’t say the same for a lot of other F&Bs in Singapore!
(P.S.: My photos don’t do the dishes any justice!)
