Junction 8 sits on the platform where the North-South Line meets the Circle Line, which is a useful thing to be when the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final kicks off at 3.00am on Monday 20 July 2026. Argentina play Spain at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and from Bishan MRT (NS17/CC15) the nearest confirmed free screenings all sit one or two train stops away, in either direction.
The closest is SAFRA Toa Payoh, one stop south on the North-South Line. From there the PA community network takes over: Bishan CC is walking distance from Junction 8 itself, and the Toa Payoh CC cluster (East and West) sits two stops down the NSL. Head the other way on the Circle Line and you reach the city-fringe fan zones at Kallang Wave Mall. Two lines, three tiers of viewing, all reachable without a taxi at 2am.
SAFRA Toa Payoh: the Football Bonanza Ultimate Fan Zone
SAFRA's Football Bonanza 2026 runs across all seven clubhouses from 11 June through to the final on 20 July, and SAFRA Toa Payoh at 293 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh is the one nearest to Bishan. From Bishan MRT it is one stop to Braddell, then a short walk across the Toa Payoh estate. The club is screening the final on its giant LED set-up in the atrium, with the Coca-Cola-sponsored Ultimate Fan Zone reserved for SAFRA members. Members get a complimentary drink and may sign in up to two guests, first-come-first-served, limited to the first 10 redemptions per match from the semi-final stage onwards.
Non-members are not shut out. The general live-screening area at the atrium is open to walk-ins, and on 19 and 20 July the Shake Affinity pop-up booth is running a $10 snack-and-drinks voucher promo (first 50 same-day transactions each day). The trade-off is that the final is the one match everyone wants, so the atrium fills well before the 3am kick-off. Arrive by 1.30am if you want a seat with a clear line to the screen.
Bishan CC: the walk-in option from Junction 8
The People's Association has confirmed Bishan Community Club on its official final-day screening list, and Bishan CC is the only confirmed PA site within genuine walking distance of Junction 8. Admission is free, but entry to the multi-purpose hall is ticketed. You need to register in advance at go.gov.sg/bishanccwc26 for an entry ticket. The CC is running a foosball table, a community volunteer recruitment booth, and a food-rescued-items distribution alongside the screening, so it leans neighbourhood-family rather than fan-zone.
If the Bishan CC allocation is full, the Toa Payoh CC cluster is the fallback. Toa Payoh East CC and Toa Payoh West CC are both on the PA's confirmed final screening list (Spain vs Argentina, 3.00am). Toa Payoh West in particular has been running sports try-outs, esports consoles, and FIFA on PS5 across the tournament, so the final there tends to draw a younger, noisier crowd than a typical CC hall. Both are a two-stop NSL ride south from Bishan.
The Circle Line corridor: city-fringe fan zones at Kallang
If a community-club hall is not the atmosphere you are after, the Circle Line from Bishan runs direct to the city fringe in under 20 minutes, and that is where the bigger production sits. The Kallang, operated by The Kallang Group at Kallang Wave Mall, is screening the final four matches of the tournament starting with the first semi-final on 15 July. The final on 20 July is on the main set-up there, with Mediacorp's official broadcast feed on the large screens.
The Kallang screening is the closest thing to a proper fan zone reachable from Bishan without changing lines. CC15 (Bishan) to CC10 (Stadium) is six stops on the Circle Line, no interchange. The trade-off is the crowd: Kallang Wave Mall draws from across the island for the final, and the indoor halls fill fast. The PA is also running screenings at Jalan Besar CC and Pek Kio CC, both on the Circle Line corridor closer in than Kallang, if you want a CC-sized room rather than the mall set-up.
Planning the night from Junction 8
The practical edge of being at the Junction 8 interchange is that you do not have to commit to one venue in advance. Bishan CC is the no-registration-needed-if-you-walk fallback for the courtyard-style set-up, SAFRA Toa Payoh is the one-stop-south option for a member fan zone with a free drink, and the Circle Line runs east to Kallang for the bigger production. If one venue is full by 2am, the NSL and CCL both run through the small hours on final night, and the next option is a single train ride away.
